A dot is one timing unit and a dash is three units. Spaces inside a character, between letters and between words have different lengths. Written slashes are a convenient visual word separator, not an extra sound.
Text becomes binary only after an encoding assigns numbers or bytes to characters. UTF-8 is suitable for international text, while ASCII covers a smaller historical character set.
The source includes characters without a selected Morse mapping. Enable accent normalization, replace unsupported characters with a question mark, skip them, or edit the source to use supported letters and signs.
Separate ordinary letters with spaces and words with a slash, vertical bar or larger gap. Check that every token contains only dots and dashes and that punctuation uses a supported sequence.
Match the encoding used to create the data. UTF-8 and ASCII use eight-bit groups; Unicode code-point mode uses 21-bit groups. Remove unrelated labels or choose relaxed grouping only for short left-padded groups.
Use a direct button press, confirm that the page is open through HTTPS and check browser or device permissions. Manual text selection remains available when clipboard access is restricted.
The entered message, conversion result and generated download are handled in the current browser. Reset clears the current workspace, and the tool adds no permanent page-specific storage or server conversion request.
Text conversion works in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Audio must begin after a user action, clipboard methods can require HTTPS, and mobile download or sharing behavior varies by browser.
It converts text to Morse code, Morse code to text, text to binary, binary to text, Morse to binary and binary to Morse. It also provides Morse audio playback, WAV export, downloadable text and JSON reports, and reference tables.
Choose Text to Morse when you want dots and dashes, or Text to Binary when you want binary bytes. Use the reverse direction when your source is already Morse or binary code.
The primary chart follows International Morse code letters, figures, punctuation and spacing. A few widely used extension characters are identified separately in the mapping table.
Letters normally use one visible space in written Morse. Words can use a slash, vertical bar, three spaces or a new line. The decoder accepts common dot, dash and word-separator variations.
A continuous sequence is ambiguous because several letter combinations can produce the same unseparated pattern. The decoder recognizes a few complete signals such as SOS, but ordinary letters should be separated.
Yes. Enter SOS as text to produce three dots, three dashes and three dots. The decoder also recognizes the continuous signal ...---... as SOS.
Yes. Use Play Morse to hear the available Morse sequence. You can change words per minute, tone frequency and volume before playback.
Yes. Download Morse WAV creates a local audio file for a reasonably sized signal. Very long messages may be refused for audio export to protect browser memory, while text conversion remains available.
Words per minute controls the timing unit. A dash lasts three dot units, gaps inside a character last one unit, letter gaps last three units and word gaps last seven units.
International Morse has a limited character set. The optional accent-normalization setting converts many accented Latin letters to their base letters. Unsupported scripts or symbols are replaced, preserved as visible placeholders or skipped according to your setting.
No. Standard Morse patterns do not distinguish uppercase from lowercase. Decoded Morse can be displayed in uppercase or lowercase using the decoded-case option.
UTF-8 bytes is the recommended choice for modern text because it supports international Unicode characters. ASCII 8-bit is useful for basic English characters, while 21-bit Unicode code points are useful for studying character values.
UTF-8 represents many Unicode characters with two, three or four bytes. Each byte is shown as an eight-bit group, so one displayed character can require several groups.
Not always. ASCII defines a limited set of character values. Modern text is commonly represented with Unicode and UTF-8, which includes ASCII but also supports many more characters.
Yes. The decoder accepts whitespace, commas, vertical bars and underscores as group separators. It can also split one continuous binary string when its length matches the selected group size.
Yes. Prefixes such as 0b01000001 are accepted and can also be added automatically to generated binary groups.
The byte groups may be incomplete, use the wrong encoding or not form valid UTF-8. Confirm that every byte has eight bits and that the same encoding was used when the binary was created.
Yes. Morse to Binary first decodes the Morse into intermediate text and then encodes that text using the selected binary format. The intermediate text is shown so you can verify the conversion.
Yes. Binary to Morse first decodes the binary into text and then maps supported text characters to Morse code. Unsupported Morse characters are handled using the selected option.
The metrics include input length, output length, recognized units, encoded bytes or code points, and the number of warnings found during the latest conversion.
Yes. Copy Output uses the browser clipboard when available and falls back to text selection. Share Result uses the device share sheet when supported and otherwise copies the output.
The output can be downloaded as a plain-text file, the complete conversion details can be downloaded as JSON, and an available Morse signal can be downloaded as WAV audio.
Yes. Generated filenames begin with correctioncopy.com_ followed by a meaningful tool-specific name.
The page applies no small classroom-style character cap. Very large input can take more time and memory, and automatic conversion pauses for unusually large text so that you can start it deliberately. Audio export has a practical duration limit.
Yes. The mode controls, text boxes, options, mapping tables and actions adapt to touch screens. Audio playback still requires a direct user action on many mobile browsers.
Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari versions support the main text conversion. Clipboard, sharing, audio playback and downloads can vary with browser security rules and device settings.
The page-specific converter processes the entered text and generated files in the current browser. It does not send the message or code to a conversion service and does not add permanent page-specific storage.
No. The tool works in a current browser with JavaScript enabled and requires no account, extension, application installation or file upload.
Clipboard features may require HTTPS, a direct user action or browser permission. Select the text manually when automatic clipboard access is blocked.
Check the device volume, confirm that Morse code is available, press Play directly, and make sure the tab is allowed to produce sound. Some mobile browsers block audio until a user gesture.
No. It converts written symbols and generated timing. It does not analyze noisy radio recordings, recognize live keyed audio or certify operating proficiency.
