Annotate PDF Online – Draw, Highlight & Add Notes

An online PDF annotator lets you place visible markup over PDF pages, including drawings, highlights, text, notes and shapes, then create a new PDF containing those marks.

Add a PDF, choose Pen, select a color and width, then drag on the page with a mouse, finger or compatible stylus. Use Select afterward to move or resize the drawing.

Yes. Use Highlighter for a broad freehand translucent stroke or Area Highlight to drag a translucent rectangular highlight over a passage. The tool does not need to recognize the underlying text.

Yes. Enter the text in the Text tool settings, choose its size and color, then click the page to place it. Select the text box to move or resize it.

Yes. Enter note text, choose a note color and click the page. The result is a visible sticky-note style box that is flattened into the downloaded PDF.

No. Sticky notes are exported as visible page markup so they display consistently. They are not interactive comment objects with pop-up panels or author metadata.

Whiteout draws an opaque white rectangle over visible page content. It is useful for visual cleanup, but it does not securely remove the covered text or image data from the original PDF content.

No. Whiteout only covers content visually. Do not use it for confidential redaction because underlying text or objects may still be recoverable, searchable or extractable.

Yes. Choose Eraser and select an annotation, or use Select and press Delete. The eraser removes annotations created in this editing session; it does not erase original PDF content.

Yes. Choose Select, click an annotation and drag it to move. Drag the square resize handle around the selected annotation to change its size.

Yes. Undo and Redo cover added, moved, resized, duplicated, deleted and cleared annotations. Keyboard shortcuts are also available on supported desktop browsers.

Yes. Use the First, Previous, Next and Last page controls below the preview. Each page keeps its own annotation list.

Yes. Clear Page removes annotations from the visible page only. Clear All removes every annotation from every page after confirmation.

No. The original file remains unchanged on your device. The page generates a separate annotated PDF for download.

The tool adds transparent annotation overlays to the existing pages rather than converting every page to a screenshot. Original selectable text and page content are generally preserved.

The tool modifies the existing PDF and adds page overlays, so existing content is generally retained. Complex forms, signatures, unusual annotations or damaged documents may behave differently after any PDF modification.

No. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are not supported by this workflow. Unlock the file with authorization before adding it.

Yes. A scanned page is displayed like any other PDF page, and you can draw, highlight, whiteout, add text or place notes over it.

Yes. The preview follows each page rotation, and the generated annotation overlay is transformed back into the page coordinate system before it is added to the PDF.

Compatible stylus input is handled through standard pointer events. Pressure sensitivity is not required, and the selected line width controls the exported stroke.

Yes. The editor supports touch drawing and responsive controls. Large or image-heavy PDFs may use more memory than lower-end mobile devices can provide.

Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari versions are expected to support the required document, canvas, pointer and download features. Older browsers or restrictive content blockers may prevent the editor from loading.

The document may be encrypted, incomplete, damaged, incorrectly named or too large for available browser memory. Try a valid unlocked PDF and close other memory-intensive tabs.

The page applies a practical 100 MB input limit to reduce browser crashes. The workable size can be lower on mobile devices and depends on page count, image resolution and document complexity.

PDF rendering can vary for unusual fonts, transparency, optional content or damaged files. Review the downloaded result in your normal PDF reader before relying on it.

Yes. Use zoom in, zoom out or Fit Width. Annotation positions are stored proportionally, so changing preview zoom does not change their document placement.

Yes. V selects, P chooses Pen, H chooses Highlighter, T chooses Text, N chooses Sticky Note, W chooses Whiteout, R chooses Rectangle, O chooses Ellipse, L chooses Line and A chooses Arrow. Delete removes the selected annotation.

The primary output is the annotated PDF. The page also shows page and annotation totals before download so you can confirm that markup exists.

The downloaded filename begins with correctioncopy.com_, followed by a safe version of the original filename and -annotated.pdf.

No page-specific endpoint receives the PDF or annotation content. The document is opened, marked up and exported in the current browser session.

No page-specific permanent storage is used. The PDF bytes, annotations, edit history and generated result remain in browser memory until reset, replacement, navigation or page closure.

No page-specific account, extension or software installation is required. A compatible browser with JavaScript enabled is sufficient.

Choose Reset Editor to remove the current PDF, annotations, edit history, preview tasks and generated result, then select another file.
