Text, logo and tiled PDF watermarks

Create a confidential stamp, draft label, copyright line or branded logo watermark with controls that affect both the live preview and final output.

Text watermark

Use custom text, three font families, four styles, adjustable size and color, plus Unicode image fallback when needed.

Image or logo watermark

Use transparent PNG logos, JPEG stamps and other browser-decodable image formats while preserving aspect ratio.

Nine positions or tiling

Place one watermark with an edge margin or repeat it in staggered rows with adjustable spacing.

Opacity and rotation

Set visibility from subtle to solid and rotate the watermark between −180° and 180°.

Flexible page targeting

Apply to all pages, only the first page, odd pages, even pages or a strict custom range.

Rotation-aware output

Stored PDF page rotations are compensated so the visual placement remains consistent.

How to add a watermark to a PDF

The tool follows a direct select, design, preview and download workflow.

1

Select a PDF or image

Browse your device or drag a supported local file into the upload area.

2

Design the watermark

Choose text or an image, then configure size, color, opacity, rotation and placement.

3

Verify the live preview

Navigate PDF pages and confirm tiling, page selection and visual position.

4

Apply and download

Generate a separate watermarked file whose name begins with correctioncopy.com_.

Common PDF watermark uses

Watermarks communicate document status, ownership and intended distribution without replacing the underlying page content.

Confidential documents

Repeat a diagonal CONFIDENTIAL watermark across contracts, reports and internal records.

Drafts and samples

Mark review copies as DRAFT, SAMPLE or COPY before sending them for feedback.

Copyright and ownership

Add a copyright line, creator name or organization label to each selected page.

Logo branding

Place a transparent logo in a corner or centered at low opacity across PDF and image files.

Privacy, compatibility and output limits

Local browser processing

The selected source file, watermark image and generated output are processed in your browser. CorrectionCopy does not receive the file contents, filenames, watermark text or generated document.

  • No account, Firebase write, public rating or database record is required.
  • Reset releases decoded images, PDF preview resources and temporary download URLs.
  • Analytics contains broad action names only, never user files or entered text.

Practical browser limits

There is no artificial page-count or file-size restriction. Capacity depends on document complexity, image dimensions, browser canvas support and available device memory.

  • Password-protected or malformed PDFs may not open or save.
  • Animated image inputs use the browser-decoded frame available to canvas.
  • HEIC and HEIF conversion requires the optional pinned decoder to load successfully.

Troubleshooting

These are the most common reasons a source file, watermark image, preview or download may fail.

My PDF does not open.

Confirm the file is a genuine PDF. Password-protected, corrupted or partially downloaded documents must be unlocked, repaired or downloaded again before watermarking.

The watermark image is rejected.

Use a genuine PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, HEIC or HEIF file. A misleading extension, damaged image or unsupported browser decoder can prevent loading.

HEIC or HEIF conversion does not start.

The optional decoder could not load or process the file. Check the connection or content blocker, or convert the image to PNG or JPEG first.

The custom PDF page range is rejected.

Enter pages and ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8. Every page must exist in the loaded PDF, and entries must be separated with commas.

The watermark is outside the page or too close to content.

Reduce its text or logo size, increase the page margin, use another position or lower the rotation angle. The engine also clamps single-watermark placement to the visible page.

The browser becomes slow on a large PDF.

Close memory-heavy tabs, use a desktop browser or reduce tile density. Image-heavy PDFs and dense tiled patterns require more memory and processing time.

The generated image cannot be exported.

The source dimensions may exceed the browser’s canvas capacity or available memory. Use a device with more memory or reduce the image dimensions before watermarking.

A content blocker prevents PDF processing.

The PDF components load only after a PDF is selected. Allow the pinned dependency host for this page or retry without restrictive script blocking.

Add watermark to PDF FAQ

How do I add a watermark to a PDF online?

Select a PDF, choose a text or image watermark, configure its appearance and pages, inspect the live preview, select Apply Watermark, then download the generated PDF.

Can I use my own logo as a PDF watermark?

Yes. Choose Image / Logo and select a supported image. Transparent PNG logos generally provide the cleanest result.

Can I tile the watermark across every page?

Yes. Enable tiling to repeat the watermark in staggered rows, then adjust tile spacing, size, opacity and rotation.

Can I watermark only selected PDF pages?

Yes. Apply the watermark to all pages, the first page, odd pages, even pages or a custom range.

What opacity works well for a watermark?

About 15% to 30% is often suitable for a visible but unobtrusive watermark. The best setting depends on page contrast, watermark color and intended use.

Can I add Unicode or non-Latin text?

Yes. Text supported by built-in PDF fonts remains vector text. Unsupported characters use a high-resolution transparent image fallback so the visible watermark can still be added.

Does watermarking reduce the quality of the existing PDF pages?

The PDF engine adds new watermark content without rasterizing the existing pages. Source image output is re-encoded only when the chosen image format requires it.

Does the tool upload or store my files?

No. Source files, logo images, entered text and generated outputs stay in the browser and are not transmitted to CorrectionCopy.

Does the tool change my original file?

No. It creates a separate download whose filename begins with correctioncopy.com_.

Does it work on mobile devices and rotated PDF pages?

Yes. The interface adapts to modern mobile browsers, and standard PDF page rotations are compensated. Very large documents still depend on available device memory.
