This online QR code scanner works as a camera QR reader and an image-based QR code decoder. On a phone, tablet or laptop with a supported camera, choose Scan with Camera, approve the browser permission prompt and aim at the code. For a QR code already saved on your device, choose Upload Image, drag the picture into the drop area, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.
The scanner first uses the browser's native barcode detection capability when it is available for the selected format. Cross-browser fallback decoding uses a pinned multi-format JavaScript engine, while a dedicated QR-specific pass provides a second decoding path. Difficult uploaded images are retried locally at practical decode resolutions with rotation and contrast adjustments instead of repeatedly allocating the full original image at multiple scales.

For product barcodes, select Barcodes only (1D) when you know the image contains an EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar or ITF symbol. Restricting the format set can reduce unnecessary decoder work. QR code only is useful when scanning menus, URLs, WiFi cards, event posters and other QR content, while 2D codes only focuses on QR, Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec.
HTTP and HTTPS QR results become an explicit Open Link action while the raw value remains available to copy or download.
Recognized WiFi payloads show the SSID, security type, password and hidden-network flag without sending the credentials to a server.
Contact QR codes are parsed into name, organization, phone and email fields and can be downloaded as a CorrectionCopy-prefixed VCF file.
Recognized values receive compose, call or message actions while keeping the decoded data visible for verification.
Geo QR codes can be opened in a map service after you review the decoded latitude and longitude.
Serial numbers, product IDs and arbitrary text remain copyable and downloadable even when no special content type is detected.
Your camera frames and uploaded images are processed on your device. The fallback decoder scripts are downloaded by the browser when scanning is first requested, but your image pixels, camera feed and decoded values are not uploaded to those decoder CDNs or to CorrectionCopy by this tool. Camera access is requested only after you choose to start the camera, and active media tracks are stopped when you stop scanning, switch away from the camera workflow, reset the tool, hide the page or leave it.
Scan history is stored only in this browser's local storage so you can revisit results. Use Clear History to remove it or Reset Tool to stop the camera, clear the current result and erase local scan history. Browser storage capacity is device-dependent; the scanner does not impose its own fixed scan-count limit.
Live scanning needs HTTPS, a browser that supports getUserMedia and permission to use a camera. If permission is denied, Upload Image remains available.
Fill a reasonable part of the frame with the code, hold the camera steady, avoid motion blur and use flash where the device exposes a torch control.
Reflections can hide bars or QR modules. Change the angle slightly and keep the complete quiet zone or code boundary visible.
Crop closer to the code when possible. A tightly framed image gives the decoder more useful pixels and less unrelated background.
Severe blur, missing modules, torn labels or low contrast may prevent decoding. A scanner cannot reconstruct information that is no longer visually present.
Native browser barcode detection support varies, so the scanner retains pinned JavaScript fallbacks instead of depending on an experimental browser API alone.
A decoded value should still be reviewed before opening links, joining networks, calling numbers or acting on payment or identity information. Decoding a code does not prove that its content is safe or trustworthy.

No. This tool decodes camera frames and images locally in the browser. It may download the pinned decoder JavaScript when needed, but it does not upload your scan content to the decoder CDN or CorrectionCopy.
Common causes include blur, poor focus, glare, low contrast, an incomplete code, excessive distance or a very small code inside a large image. Improve lighting, steady the camera or crop the uploaded image closer to the code.
Yes. Recognized WiFi payloads show network and password fields, while vCard and MECARD contact results expose contact details and can provide a downloadable VCF file.
History is stored locally in this browser using localStorage. It is not synchronized to an account. Clear History removes it, and Reset Tool also clears it while stopping the camera and resetting the interface.
Yes. Every decoded result includes Download Result TXT. Contact results can also download VCF, and the history section can download a CSV file with CorrectionCopy-prefixed filenames.
The upload scanner works in current browsers that can decode the selected image type and run JavaScript. Live scanning additionally depends on secure-context camera APIs, permission and the browser/device camera implementation.
