It works as a QR code reader, a barcode scanner and a general-purpose code decoder all in one, with no app to download and no account to create. Most failed scans come down to focus, lighting or glare. Fill the frame with the code, add light or use flash if available, and avoid reflections on glossy surfaces. For uploaded images, cropping tightly around the code before uploading often helps.
