Formatting accuracy and limitations

DOCX and PDF use different layout models. This converter preserves common document structure and visible styling as closely as the browser pipeline can reproduce it, but it is not Microsoft Word’s native print engine. Documents that depend on unavailable custom fonts, complex headers and footers, floating shapes, tracked layout, section-specific settings, advanced fields, embedded objects or unusual Word-only features can look different in the PDF. For high-stakes documents, compare the generated PDF with the original before submitting or printing it.

Privacy and browser processing

The selected DOCX bytes are read in the current browser session and are not uploaded to a CorrectionCopy document-processing endpoint. The page downloads pinned conversion code when needed, then performs document parsing, layout rendering and PDF creation in the browser. Newer Mammoth builds disable external file access by default, and this page also requests external file access to remain disabled. Resetting the tool releases the selected document, temporary render stage and generated PDF state.

Formatting looks different

Try 100% document scale and the correct paper size. Custom fonts that are not installed on the device can change line wrapping, and complex Word-only layout features may not reproduce exactly.

A long document is slow

Choose Standard quality or keep file-size optimization enabled. The converter can reduce its internal render scale automatically when a requested scale would create an unusually large canvas.

The file will not open

Confirm that it is a genuine .docx ZIP-based Word file rather than an older binary .doc file. Re-save older documents as DOCX before converting.

Very long or image-heavy documents can create extremely large browser canvases. The converter may lower the internal raster scale to reduce the risk of memory exhaustion while preserving the selected page layout.

Are my Word files uploaded to CorrectionCopy?

No page-specific document upload endpoint is used. The DOCX content is processed in browser memory. The conversion libraries themselves are downloaded from pinned CDN URLs when needed.

Can I use the converter on a phone?

Yes on current browsers with sufficient memory, though long or image-heavy documents are better suited to a desktop or laptop because browser canvas rendering is memory intensive.

Why are some fonts replaced?

A browser can only render fonts available to the page or device. If the DOCX uses a custom font that is unavailable, the browser substitutes another font, which can change line wrapping and pagination.
