Split a PDF by page, selection or custom range

This online PDF splitter handles the three common ways people need to separate a document. Use Split every page to break a PDF into individual one-page files, use Extract selected pages to keep only chosen pages, or use Split by page ranges for sections such as 1–3, 4–7 and 8–10.

The visual page grid makes it easier to identify covers, chapters, invoices, forms, scanned sheets and blank pages before creating the output. Selected pages can be saved as individual files or combined into one new PDF. Range mode can create one PDF for each range or join the requested ranges into one document.

Retained PDF pages are copied into new files without intentionally converting them into screenshots. This normally preserves selectable text, embedded images and page quality. Rebuilding a PDF can invalidate digital signatures and may not preserve every document-level feature, such as bookmarks, attachments or advanced interactive behavior.

Split PDF troubleshooting

The PDF does not open

Confirm the file is a genuine PDF and not a renamed image or document. Password-protected, encrypted, damaged or incomplete PDFs may need to be unlocked or downloaded again before splitting.

Page thumbnails take a long time to appear

Large or image-heavy PDFs require more browser memory. The tool renders previews progressively; keep the tab active, close memory-intensive tabs, or retry on a device with more available memory.

The range entry is rejected

Use page numbers and hyphens, separated by commas, such as 1-3, 5, 8-10. Page zero, reversed ranges and page numbers beyond the document are rejected.

The downloaded ZIP does not open

Allow the browser download to finish completely. Retry the download if it was interrupted, and use a current archive application that supports standard ZIP files.

A digital signature is no longer valid

Splitting rebuilds the PDF structure, so a cryptographic signature applied to the original file will normally become invalid. Keep the signed original as the authoritative copy.

Split PDF frequently asked questions

Can I split every page into a separate PDF?

Yes. Choose Split every page, review any deleted pages, select Split PDF and download the resulting ZIP when multiple page files are created.

Can I extract only selected pages?

Yes. Choose Extract selected pages, select the required page cards, then save the result as separate files or one combined PDF.

How do I split a PDF by page ranges?

Choose Split by page ranges and enter values such as 1-3, 5, 8-10. The tool can create one PDF per range or combine the requested pages into one PDF.

Will PDF quality be reduced?

Retained pages are copied into new PDF documents without intentional rasterization or image compression, so visible page quality is normally preserved.

Does the PDF leave my device?

No. The uploaded PDF is read and processed by browser code on the current device. This page does not send the file to CorrectionCopy for splitting.

Is there a fixed page or file-size limit?

The tool does not impose an artificial local-processing limit. Practical capacity depends on the PDF, browser, device memory and the number of output files requested.

Can I use the splitter on a phone?

Yes. The upload area, page cards, selection controls, preview dialog and download actions adapt to phone and tablet screens.
