OCR accuracy, privacy and practical limitations

Printed text is the main target. Clear machine-printed text normally recognizes more reliably than handwriting, decorative fonts, curved lettering, perspective-distorted photos or text covered by glare and shadows. Very neat block handwriting may produce partial results, but this page is not presented as a handwriting-recognition engine.

OCR does not understand a document perfectly. Similar characters such as 0/O, 1/l/I, punctuation, unusual symbols, names and decimal values can be confused. Tables, columns and complex page layouts may be returned as plain reading-order text rather than preserving the original visual document structure.

Image contents are processed in your browser. Selected images and recognized text are not uploaded to CorrectionCopy for OCR. The browser does download the pinned OCR runtime, selected language data and—only when needed—HEIC or TIFF decoder code from external package/CDN sources. Clearing the tool releases local previews and results from this page session.

Large jobs depend on the device. There is no artificial file-size or image-count limit for local processing. The tool processes files sequentially and adaptively limits OCR canvas dimensions to reduce memory pressure. Very large images, many languages or long batches can still be slower on phones with limited memory.

Image to text troubleshooting

No text was detected

Check that the image contains readable printed text, choose the correct language, try Document or Sparse Text layout, and increase contrast or upscale small characters.

The result has many wrong characters

Use a sharper source image, rotate the page correctly, remove glare or shadows, choose only the languages in the document, and test the Enhanced accuracy model.

The first OCR run is slow

The browser must load the OCR engine and trained language data. Language files can be cached by supported browsers, so later runs with the same model may start faster.

OCR stops on a large photo or batch

Close memory-heavy tabs, try Fast mode, reduce the number of selected language models or process fewer very large images at one time. Completed files remain separate from failed ones.

HEIC or TIFF cannot open

These formats require a lazy decoder download. Check the network/content-security policy and try converting the source to JPG or PNG with the Image Converter if the decoder is blocked.

Text order is wrong

Try another page-layout mode. Use Single Column for a clean vertical document or Sparse Text when words are placed around a screenshot or poster.
