How to make and print barcode labels
- Enter your barcode value. Add a product name and price if you want them printed, and set the number of copies. The price is a display field: type your own currency and formatting.
- Choose the barcode type and label layout. Code 128 is a useful starting point for internal SKUs. EAN and UPC require numeric product identifiers with a valid check digit.
- Check the live preview. Switch Preview between Current product label and Print sheet / page. If Live preview is off, choose Generate. Add product lets you create more labels without re-entering the sheet settings.
- For a used sticker sheet, open Advanced and set First label slot. Adjust label dimensions, margins and gaps to match your stock. Positive print adjustments move the whole grid right or down.
- Download PDF for all products and copies, or open Print Preview. Select the correct paper or label size, print at 100% / Actual size, and disable headers and footers. First print on plain paper and compare it with the sticker sheet.
- Scan a printed sample and compare the decoded value with your product record. Save project or Download project keeps an editable copy for the next print run.
Try example creates three products with different prices and copy counts. Your latest inputs and layout edits are saved automatically in this browser and restored when you return. Reset clears the current editor and its automatic draft; a manually saved project stays available until you delete it.
Product names, prices and barcode stickers
This barcode label generator combines a scannable identifier with the information customers or stockroom staff need to read. Product names can wrap across up to three lines. Prices are printed as entered, so a seller can use dollars, euros, taka, a sale-price caption or another display format without a currency conversion.
Names and prices are separate printed fields; the barcode encodes only Barcode value. This matters for shop scanners: an ordinary EAN or UPC normally identifies a product whose price is stored in your point-of-sale system. Changing the printed price does not update that system or embed the new price in the bars.
Use the display checkboxes to make barcode-only stickers, SKU labels with names, or product price tags with barcodes. Black bars and a white background are kept for contrast. The maker rejects text or barcodes that do not fit instead of silently cropping a name, removing clear margins or shrinking the bars below the allowed size.
Choose a barcode format
| Barcode | Input | Common use |
|---|---|---|
| Code 128 | Printable ASCII text, including letters, digits, spaces and symbols | Internal SKUs, stock references, bins and product records |
| Code 39 | Uppercase A–Z, digits, spaces and - . $ / + % | Existing inventory systems that expect Code 39 |
| EAN-13 | 12 data digits, or 13 digits including a valid check digit | Retail product labels using an assigned GTIN-13 |
| EAN-8 | 7 data digits, or 8 digits including a valid check digit | Products with an assigned GTIN-8 |
| UPC-A | 11 data digits, or 12 digits including a valid check digit | Retail product labels using an assigned GTIN-12 |
The final digit is calculated when you enter the shorter EAN/UPC value. If you enter the complete value, its check digit is validated. Leading zeros remain part of the value. Code 39 letters must already be uppercase; the tool does not silently change a barcode identifier or interpret start/stop asterisks.
Drawing an EAN or UPC does not allocate a GTIN, establish ownership or register a product with a retailer. Use identifiers assigned to your own products and the requirements of the receiving system. This maker does not construct GS1-128 application-identifier records, shipping-carrier labels, QR codes or PDF417 symbols.
For a standalone barcode image and additional symbologies, use the Barcode Generator.
Sticker sheets, individual labels and print alignment
The A4 preset places twelve 90 × 44 mm labels in two columns and six rows. It is a generic layout: use stock that matches it or enter your own dimensions. The Letter 30-label preset uses 2⅝ × 1 inch labels in a 5160-style grid. It is an independent layout, not an official manufacturer template or a guarantee for every printer.
Individual-label mode makes one PDF or print page per copy at the chosen label width and height. The 50 × 30 mm and 100 × 50 mm presets are starting points for label printers; select the same media size in your printer driver. Custom lets you set a sheet or individual label, dimensions in millimeters or inches, columns, rows, margins and gaps. The output keeps the physical dimensions you choose.
First label slot skips already-used positions on the first sheet only. Products and copies continue in entry order, left to right and then down, with subsequent sheets starting at slot 1. Move print right and Move print down adjust the whole grid; use negative values to move left or up. A grid that would leave the page is rejected.
Turn on Print label outlines for alignment to make sticker boundaries visible during a plain-paper test. If every row is offset by the same amount, adjust the print position. If the error grows farther down the sheet, check page scaling, label height and vertical gap rather than repeatedly moving the top margin. Printer margins, feed accuracy and driver settings remain outside the maker’s control.
Printable PDF, label PNG and SVG downloads
- Download PDF: includes all products and their copies across the required pages. Barcode bars remain vector shapes. Printed text is rendered at 300 DPI using the fonts available in your browser, so its appearance is included in the PDF; it is image text rather than selectable PDF text.
- Label PNG: exports the selected product once at 203, 300 or 600 DPI. Bars use whole pixels, and the file records the selected resolution. Pixel rounding can make the narrow bars slightly wider than the physical setting; if they no longer fit, use PDF/SVG or a wider label.
- Label SVG: exports the selected product once with vector bars and editable SVG text. Font appearance can differ when opened on another device.
- Page SVG: exports the current print preview page, including its label positions and any skipped slots. PDF includes the complete project by default. In Print Preview, you can optionally apply the selected page range to PDF downloads too.
Print Preview opens a local tab from the loaded tool, with expanded customization controls beside a white document page. Adjust dimensions, text, margins, gaps and orientation, inspect pages at the screen zoom you prefer, and choose all pages, the current page or a custom range. Fit entire page uses both the available width and height. On desktop, the customization panel scrolls independently; when it reaches its end, scrolling continues through the page. Larger screen zoom levels let you scroll within the document preview without changing print scaling. Use Print labels in the preview to open the browser’s print dialog. After the dialog closes, confirm Printed or saved to show three related tools. Opening the preview alone does not show recommendations. Cancelled or failed actions keep recommendations hidden, and showing recommendations never scrolls the page.
A PNG, SVG or PDF is a printable result, not an editable product project. Use Download project for the JSON backup that Restore project can reopen. Downloads use filenames beginning with correctioncopy.com_.
Batch barcode labels from CSV products
Paste a table or load a UTF-8 CSV, TSV or text file. A barcode column is required; name, price and copies are optional. The aliases sku, quantity and qty are also recognized. The selected barcode type applies to all products in the project.
Comma, semicolon and tab separators are detected from the header. Put quotes around a name or price containing the separator, and write a literal quote inside a quoted field as two quotes. For example, a comma-separated price of "€12,50" stays one field. Text files are read as data and are never executed.
Import products appends to the existing list, or replaces the empty first record. Select Replace current products when importing if you want a new list. The selected-file name is shown until you clear it. You can load another file and append again. A malformed import leaves the current products unchanged.
Keep barcode columns as text in spreadsheet software so leading zeros are not removed before export. Once a spreadsheet has discarded those zeros, this tool cannot reconstruct them. Projects support up to 500 products, 5,000 total copies and 200 output pages; files are limited to 500 KB to bound browser memory. Split a larger job into separate projects.
Saved projects, privacy and troubleshooting
Label generation, file reading and exports run in your browser. This page does not send the entered product list or CSV to an account backend or remote barcode service. Existing shared website analytics and account policies still apply. Save Tool uses account Favorites for this page link, and Share sends the public page link and tool description without your product data.
An automatic draft keeps your latest products, raw unfinished values, imported CSV text, selected product and layout controls in this browser. It has no application expiry and restores on your next visit. The tool and Print Preview synchronize edits locally; Back to tool returns without clearing your work. Reset clears this current draft. Save project keeps a separate manual copy; Load saved reopens it, and Delete saved removes only that manual copy while keeping the current draft. Browser storage does not sync across devices. It can be blocked, full or cleared, and private browsing usually removes it when the private session closes. A visible save-status message tells you if automatic saving fails; use a project backup as an extra copy. Download project creates a JSON backup containing your products and layout settings; keep it on a device you trust. Restore project validates the backup before changing the editor and includes the restored project in the current automatic draft. After this webpage loads, the editor, local Print Preview, generation and exports do not need a server connection. Loading the website again from a closed browser still needs the webpage to load; this tool does not install a sitewide offline cache. Account Favorites and navigating to other pages need a connection.
- Barcode is too wide: choose a wider label, shorten an internal reference, or use an allowed smaller narrow bar width. Do not crop the white quiet zones.
- Label is too short: use taller stock, hide optional printed text, reduce text fonts or adjust name lines. EAN/UPC minimum bar height increases with narrow bar width and is not reduced to force it onto small labels.
- Wrong check digit: verify the full EAN/UPC number, or enter the data digits without its final check digit. This does not verify that the number belongs to your product.
- Missing characters: names and prices depend on fonts installed on your device. Inspect the preview and PDF before printing. Code 128 data remains printable ASCII even when the name is in another language.
- Scanner cannot read the result: confirm the scanner supports the selected symbology, use black bars on white stock, print at the intended scale and test the actual printer output. A successful image scan does not certify print quality.
- Printer shifts or scales labels: match the paper/media size, use Actual size and disable headers/footers. Test the first and last row on plain paper before using an adhesive sheet.
Check an exported image with the QR Code & Barcode Scanner, then test a physical label with the scanner used in your workflow.

Frequently asked questions
Can I print a product name and price above the barcode?
Yes. Enter a name and price, then keep Print product name and Print price enabled. Prices are printed as entered, including your currency. The barcode encodes only Barcode value; the printed price does not update a point-of-sale database.
Which barcode types are available?
Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8 and UPC-A. Code 128 uses printable ASCII; Code 39 uses uppercase letters, digits and its listed symbols. EAN/UPC inputs are numeric. A missing check digit is added to the shorter value, and a complete value is checked before printing.
Can I use A4, Letter or a thermal label printer?
Yes. Open Print Preview for expanded controls, then choose an A4 or Letter sheet preset, an individual-label preset or Custom. Match the label dimensions and printer media size, print at Actual size and test on plain paper. The 5160-style preset is an independent layout; alignment depends on your stock and printer.
Can I continue printing on a partially used sticker sheet?
Yes. In Advanced, set First label slot to the next unused position, counting left to right and then down. Only the first sheet skips positions. Later sheets start at slot 1, and products are placed in their entered order with the requested number of copies.
How do I import many products without losing leading zeros?
Use UTF-8 CSV with a barcode header and optional name, price and copies columns. The maker preserves the text it receives. Set barcode columns to text in your spreadsheet before exporting; zeros already removed by spreadsheet software cannot be restored automatically. Imports append unless Replace current products when importing is selected.
Does this generate official GS1 product numbers?
No. It draws the selected barcode from your value and checks EAN/UPC check digits. It does not allocate a GTIN, register products, verify ownership or certify retailer acceptance. Use identifiers assigned to your products and follow your receiving system’s requirements.
Why does the tool reject a label that is too small?
The full text, barcode and clear margins must fit. The maker keeps minimum narrow-bar widths and proportional EAN/UPC bar height rather than silently squeezing them. Use a larger label, shorter internal barcode value or fewer optional text fields, then check the printed sample with your scanner.
Will my work return, and can I use Print Preview offline?
Your latest inputs and settings are saved automatically in this browser and restored when you return. Tool and Print Preview edits synchronize locally, and Back to tool keeps your data. After loading, editing, preview and exports work without a server connection; a fresh website load still requires the page to load. Reset clears the current draft. Blocked/full storage, clearing site data or ending a private session can remove or prevent saves. Manual project backups remain available. Save Tool and Share include the public page link without product data; existing website analytics and account policies still apply.
