What makes this QR code dynamic?
A normal static QR stores its final content directly inside the QR image. If you print a static website QR and later change the destination, you must generate and print a different QR.
A dynamic QR works differently. After you save it, the QR contains a permanent CorrectionCopy short URL. That short URL stays the same while the destination or action connected to it can be updated in your account. This is what allows one printed QR to be reused.
Supported dynamic actions
- Website URL: send scanners to an HTTPS or HTTP web page.
- Wi-Fi details: show the current network details through the dynamic QR action flow.
- Plain text: display an editable message or instruction.
- Email, phone, SMS and WhatsApp: open the appropriate communication action.
- Location: open the current latitude and longitude in a mapping flow.
- Contact / vCard: provide editable contact information without reprinting the QR.
How to create your dynamic QR code
- Choose the action type and enter the current destination or details.
- Customize the QR color, dot style, corners, margin, size and optional automatic center icon.
- Sign in and select Save Dynamic QR. Free accounts can keep one dynamic QR and update that same QR whenever needed.
- Download the saved QR as PNG or SVG. The downloaded code contains the permanent short link, not the temporary preview content.
- Return later, change the action or destination, and save again. The printed QR itself does not need to change.
Privacy, storage and performance
The QR graphic is generated in your browser. CorrectionCopy does not need to store PNG or SVG copies of your generated QR image. For the dynamic feature, only the small account record needed to resolve your permanent short code and current action has to be stored.
The design preview and any custom logo upload run locally in the browser. Only the supported base appearance settings and your dynamic action are saved to your account. A scan necessarily reaches CorrectionCopy first so its permanent short code can resolve to the current action. The current QR service does not need QR image storage or individual scan-history records.
Dynamic QR limitations
A dynamic QR cannot be completely server-free because the permanent short link needs a server lookup each time it is scanned. Native QR payloads such as a direct WIFI: code behave differently: if the QR itself contains Wi-Fi credentials, those credentials cannot later be changed without changing the QR image. This tool keeps the printed code editable by routing the permanent QR through the dynamic CorrectionCopy action.
Always test the final saved QR with at least one phone before printing it in large quantities, especially after using unusual color combinations or very small physical print sizes.
Custom QR Code Maker for branding and print
Create a branded QR code with a logo for a business card, shop sign, product label, event poster, restaurant menu or campaign handout. Start with a high-contrast preset, select a dot pattern and corner treatment, and adjust the visual weight without changing your dynamic destination.
PNG is practical for sharing on websites and inserting into documents; SVG stays sharp when scaled for larger print layouts. Choose the downloadable dimensions, check the spacing around the outer modules and test the saved short link with a camera app before ordering printed materials.
Social media QR codes with recognizable center icons
For an Instagram QR code, Facebook QR code, YouTube QR code, TikTok QR code, LinkedIn QR code, WhatsApp QR code or other profile link, choose Website URL as the action, paste the complete HTTPS profile link, and then select the matching social icon. The icon changes the appearance only; it does not automatically set the destination.
Free editable QR code versus a static QR
Your free account can maintain one dynamic QR and edit its destination repeatedly. A printed code continues using its original permanent CorrectionCopy link; a direct static Wi-Fi or direct-vCard payload is different and cannot be changed later without replacing the actual QR image. This dynamic tool resolves an action on CorrectionCopy when scanned.
Customize QR patterns, quiet zones and transparent exports
Pick from square, rounded, dotted and other QR module styles, select corner shapes and separate finder-pattern colors, and change the foreground/background colors. Presets offer useful starting points, but a high contrast between dark modules and a light surface is more important than decorative effects.
To make a transparent QR code, select the transparency option before saving or exporting. This removes the filled background, not the need for whitespace around the QR. If placed over a busy photograph, gradients or a dark background, the result may be difficult to scan. Add a light quiet zone in your final design and test at the intended printed size.
A center logo is kept within a conservative size range, high error correction is applied when any center icon is used, and the generator requests removal of modules beneath the logo. These safeguards improve reliability but cannot guarantee readability for every design or scanner.
Custom QR Code & Dynamic QR FAQ
Can I change a website QR into a Wi-Fi QR later?
Yes, the saved dynamic QR can change its action type while keeping the same permanent short link. For Wi-Fi, the dynamic flow displays or handles the current Wi-Fi action rather than changing the QR into a native static WIFI: payload.
Is this a free-forever QR code generator?
The current free plan allows one editable dynamic QR per account with repeated destination updates. We do not promise that pricing, availability or account limits will remain unchanged forever.
How many dynamic QR codes can a free account create?
The current free model is one dynamic QR per account. You can edit that same QR repeatedly instead of creating additional free dynamic codes.
Does changing the destination change the QR image?
No. Once saved, the QR contains the permanent CorrectionCopy short URL. Updating the action changes what that short URL does, not the printed QR pattern.
Are the generated PNG or SVG files stored on CorrectionCopy?
The design is generated in the browser, so generated PNG and SVG files do not need to be stored on the server.
Can I use the QR on product packaging or printed signs?
Yes. SVG is useful for scalable print work, while a sufficiently large PNG works well for many digital and print uses. Test the final code at the intended physical size before mass printing.
Why must I sign in to save a dynamic QR?
The permanent short code must belong to an account so only its owner can change the destination or action later. Previewing and designing the QR does not require sign-in.
Will a dynamic QR work if CorrectionCopy is unavailable?
No dynamic redirect service can resolve its short link while the service itself is unavailable. This is different from a static QR, which stores the final payload directly inside the image.
Can I put my own logo in the center?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP in your current browser tab. It is resized locally and not uploaded or saved in your account. Reupload it when you revisit the page. The center is kept clear of QR modules, but you should test the code on several phones.
Can I download a QR code with a transparent background?
Yes. Select Transparent background, save or update the permanent QR, and download PNG or SVG. Place it on a light, high-contrast surface with an unobstructed quiet zone before scanning.
Do style presets, social icons and custom logos persist after closing the page?
The original colors, dots, corners, size, margin and center-icon setting are saved with your QR. Advanced corner colors, social selections, logo images and transparency are local to your current browser tab and must be reapplied for future downloads.
