How to make shipping and address labels
- Choose a label style and size. Use a shipping label for both addresses, an address label for the recipient alone, or a return-address label for your sender details. Choose a thermal label, a sheet preset or a custom layout.
- Enter complete address lines. Put the name, street, locality, region, postal code and country in the order required by the destination postal service. Add your sender address when needed. The form preserves your line breaks and shows the address fields for the chosen style. Switching styles keeps hidden entries.
- Add the order details you need. Enter an optional order reference, set the copy count and enable a barcode if your workflow uses one. Advanced settings include a separate barcode value, contact line, note and editable headings.
- Review the live result. Check each recipient and every sheet page. Incomplete labels show a draft preview. An existing preview stays visible during layout edits, with downloads disabled until the current label is ready. For a mailing list, open Multiple recipients & CSV import, load a file or paste CSV, then select Import recipients. You can also add recipients individually.
- Download or print. Download the batch as PDF, export a selected label as PNG or SVG, or use Print Preview to adjust page ranges and alignment. Select matching paper and 100% / Actual size in the print dialog.
One workspace for parcel labels and mailing lists
A parcel label needs a clear delivery address; a mailing sheet needs consistent spacing. This free label maker handles both. The sender block stays separate from the larger recipient address, while references and optional barcodes occupy their own area.
- Shipping, address and return-address styles: create parcel address labels, envelope stickers and repeat sender labels without rearranging every text box.
- Thermal and sheet layouts: start with 4×6 inch, 100×150 mm, 4×4 inch or 100×50 mm labels, or generic A4 and US Letter sheets. Custom sizes, rows, columns, margins and gaps let you match your stock.
- Complete address text: automatic font fitting reduces the address to a minimum of 8 pt. If the full content still cannot fit, the tool asks you to adjust it rather than cutting off lines.
- Batch flexibility: set copies per recipient, append or replace imported recipients, duplicate entries and choose the first unused slot on a partially used sheet.
- Separate Print Preview: expand layout controls, review a white document page, select a page range and use fit-to-screen or percentage zoom. Screen zoom does not change the label’s print size.
Supported inputs, downloads and barcodes
Type or paste addresses, or import a UTF-8 CSV, TSV or text file up to 1 MB. CSV requires a recipient header; optional headers are reference, barcode, phone, note and copies. Quote addresses containing commas or line breaks. Use Example CSV to see the format.
Each project supports up to 500 recipients and 5,000 labels, subject to a 200-page output limit. Large projects may need to be split into smaller batches. The sender address and layout apply to the whole project.
PDF contains the print pages at their specified physical dimensions, with vector barcode bars and high-resolution raster address text. Label PNG exports one selected recipient at 203, 300 or 600 DPI with resolution metadata. Label SVG exports that recipient once; Page SVG exports the visible sheet. SVG uses local system fonts, so its text may look different on another device. JSON backup preserves editable settings and unfinished entries; recipients CSV is for exchanging the address list.
Optional Code 128 supports printable ASCII references. Code 39 supports uppercase letters, digits, spaces and its permitted punctuation. The address itself can use other scripts supported by your browser’s fonts. The barcode encodes only the order reference or custom value you choose; keep the clear margins around it and test it with your scanner.
Practical label-making examples
Small shop dispatch: enter the store’s return address once, import customer addresses with order references, then print one 4×6 label per parcel. Office mailing: choose an A4 or Letter sheet, use recipient-only labels and start from the first unused sticker. Freelancer deliveries: prepare repeat client labels, adjust copy counts and keep a separate draft for the next mailing. Return-address stickers: select the return-address style, enter the sender block and set the copies you need.
Address accuracy, privacy and printing limits
Postal address formats differ between countries. The tool does not verify delivery eligibility, postcode accuracy or carrier acceptance. For international mail, check the destination postal operator’s requirements and use the full destination country name on the final address line where required. Add language translations or additional details when the postal service requests them.
This creates address labels, not purchased postage. It does not book a shipment, calculate shipping rates, issue carrier tracking, create a customs declaration or produce an official carrier routing barcode. Obtain those services separately when required.
Label processing runs in your browser. This tool’s scripts do not upload your addresses, references or imported files to CorrectionCopy. Automatic drafts and the separate saved copy use this browser’s local storage without a tool-imposed expiry. Reset clears the current automatic draft; Delete saved clears the separate saved copy. Browser clearing, private browsing and blocked or full storage can remove or prevent drafts, so keep a private JSON backup for work you need to retain.
After this webpage has loaded, the editor, previews and exports can work without a server connection. Reopening the webpage still requires a connection unless your browser has retained it. Account Save Tool stores the tool in Favorites; it does not save addresses to your account. Share copies only the public tool URL.
Presets are generic dimensions, not a guarantee that a named sticker stock matches. Measure your sheet, test on plain paper and compare the output against the physical labels. Your browser and printer control paper selection, margins, feed direction and scaling. PDF and browser printing should use the matching paper size at 100% / Actual size.
Fix common address-label problems
- Text will not fit: enable automatic font fitting, use a taller label, remove optional notes or shorten headings. Check the smaller-font notice and keep important address information.
- Stickers drift across the sheet: turn off Fit to page, check rows, columns and gaps, and use small horizontal or vertical print adjustments. A constant shift usually needs an offset; increasing drift usually needs different spacing.
- A barcode is too wide or will not scan: use a shorter reference, a wider label or an appropriate narrow bar width. Keep black bars on white, avoid scaling and test the actual printed label. PNG rounds barcode modules to whole pixels and can require more width than PDF or SVG.
- CSV import fails: use UTF-8 text, include the recipient header, quote multiline fields and give each row the same number of columns. Invalid imports leave your current recipient list intact.
- Preview or downloads are unavailable: correct the highlighted address or layout field, enable JavaScript and use a browser with canvas support. If an address line cannot render, use a browser with font support for that language. If a separate preview tab is blocked, the tool opens Print Preview in place.
- A draft did not save: check the browser-storage message and download JSON before closing the page. Keep exported address files private, especially on shared computers.
Frequently asked questions
Does this make paid carrier shipping labels?
No. It makes printable sender, recipient and return-address labels with optional order-reference barcodes. Postage, shipment booking, official tracking, customs forms and carrier routing labels must come from the appropriate service.
Can I print 4×6 labels and A4 or Letter sticker sheets?
Yes. Choose a preset or enter custom paper and label dimensions. For sheets, set rows, columns, margins, gaps and the first unused label slot. Measure your stock and run a plain-paper test at 100% / Actual size.
How do I create labels for many recipients?
Open Multiple recipients & CSV import, use Example CSV as a guide, load or paste UTF-8 data and select Import recipients. You can append or replace the list, edit recipients individually and set different copy counts. Projects support up to 500 recipients, 5,000 labels and 200 output pages.
What information goes into the optional barcode?
Only your order reference or separate custom value is encoded. Code 128 accepts printable ASCII; Code 39 accepts uppercase letters, digits, spaces and supported punctuation. The barcode does not create a carrier tracking number.
Can I use international and right-to-left addresses?
Yes. Enter the address lines in the order required by the destination postal service. Automatic, left-to-right and right-to-left text settings are available. Rendering depends on the fonts installed on your device; check the preview and printed output. The tool does not validate postal addresses.
Are my addresses saved on CorrectionCopy’s server?
This tool processes labels locally and does not upload address inputs or imported files. Automatic drafts and a separate saved copy stay in this browser when storage is available. Save Tool adds the public tool to account Favorites, while Share excludes your entries. JSON backups contain your private data.
Can I work offline and return to my draft later?
The editor, preview and exports work locally after the page loads. Automatic drafts have no tool-imposed expiry and can be restored when you return using the same browser. Reopening the webpage may require a connection. Browser clearing, private browsing or storage restrictions can remove drafts; use JSON backup for a portable copy.
Why does screen zoom not change the printed label size?
Screen zoom changes only the on-screen document. Label dimensions, PDF page sizes and print sizes come from the layout settings. In Print Preview, Fit entire page considers both visible width and height; choose matching paper and 100% / Actual size in your print dialog.
